The Death of Outrage

There was a book several years ago with the title The Death of Outrage.  It summed up what I thought was the main problem of my generation. However, I think every generation thinks they have had the worst of all generations.  I think this title really encapsulates the whole abortion battle.  The death of outrage.
I often ask....what's it going to take to wake people up?   My own family member (not husband and children fortunately) who is a diehard pro-abortion proponent told me that things are "iffy" and it "depends on what you believe".  Is rape "iffy"?  Is pedophilia "iffy"?  Is bank robbery "iffy"?  No, only the murders of unborn babies are "iffy".   The sad thing is that people who are for abortion register no shock, no compassion and no moral outrage when they hear that women die from abortions.  NONE.  Yet they claim that women need good care.  There is zero outrage when they get the worst of care ever.

I am not new to the moral contortions of the pro-abort.  You are NOT allowed to text and drive as that is a moral sin.  Why?  You could kill or injure a person.  The lesson I learned from the pro-abort is that you need to YELL at that person who is texting and driving because they aren't paying attention to the road and could injure or kill someone (including themselves).  However, do NOT yell at the abortionist as he is showing up at the abortion mill to kill babies. You can call a texter/driver a  "jerk" but you can't say that to an abortionist.  Capiche?  And we don't text while we drive because we could cause the LOSS OF LIFE of ourselves and others.  However, abortion which could cause the lives of women and others....that's perfectly okay.  You falla?

My "favorite":   Can't have abortion illegal because women die from back-alley abortions. Outrage!  No outrage when women die in "front-alley" abortions.  So the door moved from the back to the front....women are still dying but NOW there is zero outrage and the abortionist now escapes pretty much scot-free.  No outrage for criminals escaping prison.

I am aghast, once again, at the news of another woman who has been killed by abortion.  Am I surprised that abortion kills women?  No.  Am I surprised that abortionists are calloused and greedy?  No.  Am I surprised that abortion mills are filthy, unregulated and dangerous?  No. Am I even aghast that these abortionists get away with murder of infants and their mothers? No.   Yet, I am aghast that yet another woman and her baby has died.

This same family member is under the impression that these late-term abortions are "rare".  Define "rare".   Is it once in 40 years?   Once every ten years?   Once a year?   Define late-term.  Since Doe vs. Bolton allows for abortion for any reason all the way up to the time of delivery....what really is "too late" in the pregnancy?  For the pro-aborts I know....all 9 months are acceptable. For some abortion proponents, even if the baby is breathing on his or her own, it is preferable to set that baby aside to die (like Obama voted for as senator).

Viability is often a term used to justify an abortion but here's the deal.....newborns are dependent on their mothers for life just as much as the 10th, 13th, 21st week of the unborn baby's.   Newborns are not killed because they are not "viable". Viability is a politician's word.

Abortionist Shelley Sella (in New Mexico) caused a woman's uterus to rupture at 35 weeks-THIRTY-FIVE weeks.  The woman who Carhart killed Christin Gilbert in 2006 and she was at 28 weeks.  We know babies to survive as early as 21 weeks which granted has been rare, but still very possible to save these babies!

Woman dead from abortion at 33 week gestation

Carhart cannot be reached. He has his money and now he knows he needs to be conveniently lie low for a short time.  Will anything happen to him legally?  Probably, nothing will happen to him.  I read an article that pro-life groups want him out of Maryland.  The idea is to send him elsewhere?  Why?  To kill women in OTHER states?  No, this guy needs prison.  Drop him,,Gosnell, Sella and Stephen Chase Brigham, et.al. into Alcatraz which clearly needs to be reopened.

Please continue to share the website Safe and Legal with as many people as you can.  Please share Abortiondocs and also Real Choice Blog (the sister page to this is Real Choice -abortion deaths since 1973).

Roe vs. Wade and Doe vs. Bolton are not going to be overturned.  Yes, with God it IS possible but what we are seeing over the past 40 years is a change of heart and education.  Think about the 24 abortion mills/pill shops shut down in 2012 alone.  Think about the 650,000 people who attended the March for Life in Washington, D.C. last month.  There is a real change happening.  In 1991, there were over 2,000 abortion mills open.  Now in 2013 there are around 653 abortion mills open with 185 pill mills operating.  The 804 abortionists are getting sloppier and older and many are retiring and dying.  The turnover for abortion workers are quick and many of them are seeking help from And Then There Were None ministry.

Sidewalk counsel if you can, but if that is not possible, pray for those who do!!  The abortion cartel is desperate and they are acting on desperation.  Things are getting uglier out there in their desperate attempts to keep the lie going and to keep abortion in operation.  It's cutting into their profits and it's making their jobs harder.  By all means, do YOUR part to make it harder. We are not rocks or islands (don't be Paul Simon's song "I Am a Rock"!) to be isolated and not care for our brothers and sisters who are stumbling to the slaughter.  The abortion cartel can't do abortions if their parking lots are EMPTY.  In this world, it really seems that the bad guys are getting away with everything.  Why aren't all the abortionists in prison? Why are regular citizens' freedoms being stripped?   Will justice ever be served?   God will NOT be mocked for one thing and Psalms 37:1 says to not fret because of evildoers.  As always, the Word brings the wisdom and comfort to me!  Also check out Proverbs 24:1-22.
Ephesians 6:12-13
We we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.  Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

I don't have just one family member who is diehard pro-abortion.  I have several and they are products of  ill-education and of generations of lies passed down through the ages. Satan's lies are always the same.  They have bought the lie and they believe the manufactured slogans.  They need healing and I pray for a breakthrough for that healing to take place.  They need to KNOW Jesus desperately.  Many of you probably have the same situations going as well.  Please continue praying for these lost and deceived ones.

I often meet young people who either self-identify as "pro-choice" or admit they are on the fence about the subject.  There was even one girl who said, "I really don't know what I think about abortion" which is the most honest answer ever.  She didn't pretend to have the answers but she wasn't going to decide based on lack of information.  These are the best meetings because one can see they are open to truth and they want to learn more.   So, I tell them about Planned Parenthood's origins of racism and eugenics.  I tell them about Planned Parenthood's protection of sexual predators and their lies about prenatal development.  I share brochures that I have purchased and share vital websites (like the ones at the bottom of this blog).   I tell them about the women Planned Parenthood and other abortion mills have killed and about babies who have survived abortions (only to be set aside to die).

Shock registers in their eyes.  Their faces become distorted with utter disbelief.  They ask "How can that be?" or "Why don't we hear about this?"  Then I explain that our national media and press is pro-abortion and don't want abortion to stop.  "Have you heard any of this in your latest news shows or your magazines?"  No.  You won't hear of it so now YOU need to go on the hunt for your own answers.  Then I give them pro-life websites to check out what is REALLY going on in their country.  They are rattled.  They often say, "I just had no idea and now I want to know more".  We CAN influence and hearts and minds can change.  I no longer think of Roe vs. Wade as changed (which wouldn't make abortion illegal 100% anyway).

My pro-abort family members' hearts are hardened and their ears and minds stopped up with granite.  Those who need healing the most are often like this. I pray for them as I love them dearly and want to see them free of their self-made prisons.  It's hard to imagine what they would look like knowing and serving the Lord instead of their little gods but God has the vision of that and He has the timing and the ways.  I will wait upon the Lord.  In the meantime though, it makes for some very shallow relationships.  You can only talk about the weather for so long.

I close with Psalm 37 for today.

37 Do not fret because of evildoers,
Nor be envious of the workers of iniquity.
For they shall soon be cut down like the grass,
And wither as the green herb.

Trust in the Lord, and do good;
Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.
Delight yourself also in the Lord,
And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Commit your way to the Lord,
Trust also in Him,
And He shall bring it to pass.
He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light,
And your justice as the noonday.

Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him;
Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way,
Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.
Cease from anger, and forsake wrath;
Do not fret—it only causes harm.

For evildoers shall be cut off;
But those who wait on the Lord,
They shall inherit the earth.
10 For yet a little while and the wicked shall be no more;
Indeed, you will look carefully for his place,
But it shall be no more.
11 But the meek shall inherit the earth,
And shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

12 The wicked plots against the just,
And gnashes at him with his teeth.
13 The Lord laughs at him,
For He sees that his day is coming.
14 The wicked have drawn the sword
And have bent their bow,
To cast down the poor and needy,
To slay those who are of upright conduct.
15 Their sword shall enter their own heart,
And their bows shall be broken.

16 A little that a righteous man has
Is better than the riches of many wicked.
17 For the arms of the wicked shall be broken,
But the Lord upholds the righteous.

18 The Lord knows the days of the upright,
And their inheritance shall be forever.
19 They shall not be ashamed in the evil time,
And in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.
20 But the wicked shall perish;
And the enemies of the Lord,
Like the splendor of the meadows, shall vanish.
Into smoke they shall vanish away.

21 The wicked borrows and does not repay,
But the righteous shows mercy and gives.
22 For those blessed by Him shall inherit the earth,
But those cursed by Him shall be cut off.

23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord,
And He delights in his way.
24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down;
For the Lord upholds him with His hand.

25 I have been young, and now am old;
Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken,
Nor his descendants begging bread.
26 He is ever merciful, and lends;
And his descendants are blessed.

27 Depart from evil, and do good;
And dwell forevermore.
28 For the Lord loves justice,
And does not forsake His saints;
They are preserved forever,
But the descendants of the wicked shall be cut off.
29 The righteous shall inherit the land,
And dwell in it forever.

30 The mouth of the righteous speaks wisdom,
And his tongue talks of justice.
31 The law of his God is in his heart;
None of his steps shall slide.

32 The wicked watches the righteous,
And seeks to slay him.
33 The Lord will not leave him in his hand,
Nor condemn him when he is judged.

34 Wait on the Lord,
And keep His way,
And He shall exalt you to inherit the land;
When the wicked are cut off, you shall see it.
35 I have seen the wicked in great power,
And spreading himself like a native green tree.
36 Yet he passed away,[a] and behold, he was no more;
Indeed I sought him, but he could not be found.

37 Mark the blameless man, and observe the upright;
For the future of that man is peace.
38 But the transgressors shall be destroyed together;
The future of the wicked shall be cut off.

39 But the salvation of the righteous is from the Lord;
He is their strength in the time of trouble.
40 And the Lord shall help them and deliver them;
He shall deliver them from the wicked,
And save them,
Because they trust in Him.

MISSISSIPPI ABORTION-FREE--CONFETTI TIME

PRAISE JESUS!!!!!

Well, I am happy to share the awesome news that the Department of Health has shut down the ONE remaining abortion mill in the state of Mississippi in the good ole' USA.   Many abortion mills have shut down in the past year but this one is momentous in that there are ZERO abortion mills existing in this state.  There are even other states that have one remaining abortion chamber and we pray for those to fall, domino-style. Last Abortion Mill in Mississippi .    Abortion mill owners complain about SAFETY measures like widening doorways for gurney access, unbroken stairs, working equipment.  I don't know one liberal in my circle who is going to be happy about an abortion mill closure that shut down for heinous conditions.  Not one.  They will all lament "a bunch of old white men on Capitol Hill is telling me what to do with my body".  Never mind that these mills actually kill women with cases of sepsis, perforated organs, and anesthesia overdoses.  Here's the news flash though.....you can't make abortion SAFE.  It's like saying, "Let's make sure the ovens at Auschwitz operate hotter and cleaner and have some pretty flowers planted out in front of it".   76 page deficiency report at abortion mill

Mark Crutcher, of Life Dynamics, pointed out that when he started out with pro-life ministry in 1992, there were over 2,100 abortion mills in the U.S.   Now in 2013, there are over 600 and he added that most of those are in bad shape.  Many different factors will contribute to their closures.   Many people think that if Roe vs. Wade (and I would think Doe vs. Bolton would have to be as well), were overturned, then we would have 100% abortions illegal.   It would just go back for the individual states to decide for themselves to keep the murder of the unborn legal or illegal.   States such as New York and California which are pretty much without any limits on abortion, don't report their numbers, and could be considered the abortion capitols of the nation (east and west coasts respectively) would keep abortion going.  States like Alabama  and Georgia would move swiftly to make it illegal.

It is quite amazing though, that after 40 years since Roe vs. Wade being forced on the American people by fiat..we will see that it's possible to have a federal decree as toothless and impotent.  It is a victory (but already we see Satan trying to undo this....I'll address this in future blog).

Awareness is what catches attention first.  My exposure to the world of abortion was non-existent.  I never thought about it, PERIOD.  It never entered my little isolated bubble-world.  Then the bubble popped one day.  I learned what it was....this practice exists?  How could anyone DO THAT?   The natural plan that God had intended was all of  sudden askew.   Of course, my knowledge of post-abortive men and women was non-existent too.   It took awhile but I am thankful today for the knowledge.  Like William Wilberforce once said, (paraphrasing here), You can choose to look away, but now you can't say you never knew".

Once I got searching though, I was exposed to many kinds of pro-life ministries and levels of activism.  Some are out there on the frontlines at abortion mills trying to desperately reach the women and girls going into abortion mills (willingly and unwillingly).  They are truly the soldiers willing to lay down their lives, willing to sacrifice in various ways to make sure those who go in (or those who work there) are exposed to the truth.

Others take a different approach.  Some are in the rooms of crisis pregnancy centers sharing this truth in this very private and personal setting....with free ultrasounds and material services readily shared.  Some people feel they are not cut out for either setting but they want the truth out and they march, put bumper stickers on their cars, wear pro-life shirts, go to fundraisers and maybe they share with family, friends and neighbors.  Maybe they just like sharing news on their social networks.   If anything, the most important activism is PRAYER no matter what method of activism is advanced.   Many different groups are out there with many different ideologies....going to college campuses, churches, fairs, walks and marches, public speaking engagements and reaching out to those who were in the abortion businesses themselves.   You see the links at the bottom (and I just realized I need to update AGAIN).  Satan loves to divide and I will have to say that I was very saddened by the in-fighting between groups over which method is the best.

It's like coming to Christ.  So many found and accepted Christ in so many different ways.  The BEST way if fire and brimstone preaching (says one), and then another one says, "No, make a friend and help them find Christ". With others, it's street evangelizing...with some it's helping a homeless ministry....gentle words, truthful words.....many of us could share widely divergent stories of how we came to Christ...quickly, slowly, some feeling fear of Hell or some with feelings of relief and with "liquid love".   One could criticize each method.   I could be criticized with just my blog entry here.  I just say...pray for growth for that one is no longer ignorant.  They may start out slow and mature at a very slow rate....but their roots are strong and deep.  As long as they are going forward....I am thankful.

It took me awhile and I am still praying for advancement myself.  I recognize I don't do nearly as much as I want to do and I am painfully aware of what obstacles I let stand in my way.  I pray for God to keep working on me to keep maturing not just in the ministry of pro-life service but most importantly, my walk with Him.

I am thankful for all the fellow Christians and fellow pro-life warriors both in my immediate circle and the ones I know distantly thanks to social networks, blogs and quick acquaintances.  It's true, I haven't been in Mississippi this week getting attacked with Mace like Cal Zastrow's group.   It's true, I haven't been working in Mississippi for Personhood or in the halls of government getting this mill shut down.  The only part I have in this is sharing on my blog and social networks.   The only part I have is praying for its permanent shutdown.  The only thing I can really enjoy is letting you know that it happened and reminding you that with God, all things are possible.   We can celebrate what God has done and how He has used His servants to stop the killing in Mississippi.  Now....what state is next?   South Dakota?  North Dakota?  Montana?

Start praying and pray unceasingly!   Will God use YOU to shut down a mill?  Even if that is not something you might partake in someday, share the news of Mississippi with someone TODAY.

P.S.  It's going to take a few weeks to actually shutdown this mill.  It's not effective today but we can pray that no more babies will be killed in the upcoming weeks.   PRAY for those mommies and babies to be protected even now!

2 Chronicles 20:15 b "Thus says the Lord to you: ‘Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s."

2 Chronicles 20:5-12
 Then Jehoshaphat stood in the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the Lord, before the new court, and said: “O Lord God of our fathers, are You not God in heaven, and do You not rule over all the kingdoms of the nations, and in Your hand is there not power and might, so that no one is able to withstand You? Are You not our God, who drove out the inhabitants of this land before Your people Israel, and gave it to the descendants of Abraham Your friend forever? And they dwell in it, and have built You a sanctuary in it for Your name, saying, ‘If disaster comes upon us—sword, judgment, pestilence, or famine—we will stand before this temple and in Your presence (for Your name is in this temple), and cry out to You in our affliction, and You will hear and save.’ 10 And now, here are the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir—whom You would not let Israel invade when they came out of the land of Egypt, but they turned from them and did not destroy them— 11 here they are, rewarding us by coming to throw us out of Your possession which You have given us to inherit. 12 O our God, will You not judge them? For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You.”

BUT OUR EYES ARE UPON YOU!!!

And Liberty for ALL

http://cnsnews.com/news/article/obama-defends-roe-v-wade-way-our-daughters-have-same-chance-sons-fulfill-their-dreams

From the article:

President Barack Obama says the 39th anniversary of Roe v. Wade is the chance to recognize the “fundamental constitutional right” to abortion and to “continue our efforts to ensure that our daughters have the same rights, freedoms, and opportunities as our sons to fulfill their dreams.”
The 1974 U.S. Supreme Court nationalized abortion law, prohibiting states from deciding on the matter. In his written statement, Obama acknowledged that abortion has been a divisive political issue.
Obama, while serving in the Illinois State Legislature and as president of the United States, has taken a hard line on abortion rights.
In his statement on the anniversary of the Roe v. Wade ruling, Obama said it reflects the broader principles of America.
“As we mark the 39th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, we must remember that this Supreme Court decision not only protects a woman’s health and reproductive freedom, but also affirms a broader principle: that government should not intrude on private family matters,” Obama said. “I remain committed to protecting a woman’s right to choose and this fundamental constitutional right.
“While this is a sensitive and often divisive issue -- no matter what our views, we must stay united in our determination to prevent unintended pregnancies, support pregnant woman and mothers, reduce the need for abortion, encourage healthy relationships, and promote adoption,” Obama said.
“And as we remember this historic anniversary, we must also continue our efforts to ensure that our daughters have the same rights, freedoms, and opportunities as our sons to fulfill their dreams.”

SHUDDER!   Please wake me up from this nightmare.

Yesterday, we observed Sanctity of Life Sunday at our church.   It is important for many to understand why we do this.  I think anyone who was old enough to remember the day our nation was dealt a horrific attack in New York City on September 11, 2001 would say with clarity, "I will never forget that day."   They might go on to describe where they were and what they were doing when all the events took place.  One might even relive the emotions felt that day as those memories are recalled.

We won't forget that over 3,000 people died from that terrible event.  Every year we see the memorials take place in New York City, Washington D.C. and Shanksville, Pennsylvania.  We hear the bells rung for each life extinguished on that day.   We won't diminish each and every one of those creations of God's.  There was even an unborn baby lost.  Wait a minute....there was an unborn baby who died as a result of that terrorist attack?   We recognize that baby was worth mentioning.....because that life was precious even though that baby never got to experience life outside of the womb.

 [Little sidenote here:  it is quite frustrating to know that the press and court system will sometimes recognize unborn lives but at other times will completely ignore unborn lives like in the Fort Hood terrorist attack.  The death toll number is usually reported as 13 when it is actually 14.  One of the soldiers was pregnant and on her way home to Chicago.  In fact, a witness said that she was screaming, "My baby! My baby!" when the attack took place.  The heartbeat of her baby ended that day the minute his or her mother died at the hands of Major Nidal Malik Hasan.  Nidal Hasan, at this point in time, has not been charged with the murder of  Pvt. Francheska Velez's unborn baby.]

Yet, we forget that on September 11, 2001, across the nation, even more unborn babies were lost that day in a very violent way than died in the attacks on the east coast.  No bells are rung for these little victims and we lose over 3,000 babies every day in the United States of America.  No, I don't forget the babies who are killed globally either.

Many of us were small children or maybe not even born when Roe vs. Wade was handed down in 1973.   Many of us cannot have the same feelings of horror, anger and grief that untold numbers of people felt on January 22, 1973.  We weren't either there or very aware of the impact of that day.   Just like the children who were very young or born after the World Trade Center attacks.  They'll hear about it and be saddened when they understand but it won't have the same impact as having experienced it firsthand.   Those on the frontlines and were there have a different experience altogether.

Yet, it doesn't have to be that way.  The older I get, the understanding grows and the feelings grow stronger.  A great while back, someone put a video called "Choosing Life" in my husband's work mailbox.  It was distributed by the American Center for Law and Justice (http://www.aclj.org/).   I watched that video and it "knocked my socks off".   It was a historical documentary showing the early years of the pro-life movement.   I encourage everyone to order a copy (it's free) for viewing. DO IT TODAY!  ;)

If you go to this link, you can see a clip of it  http://aclj.org/pro-life/choosing-life-719    Just watching the two minute clip evoked strong emotions.  I was a young parent in the 1990's when much of this activism was going on and I had pretty much no idea this was taking place.  In fact, in those early years, my views were still "pro-choice".  Gratefulness is a lightweight word to describe what I feel for those pro-life warriors.  I would have to watch this film again to remember everything but I give warning, especially to young people watching it.   Even though parts of it (if I remember right) are pixelated, some of the pro-abortion people took pride in their nudity as a protest tool.

Yesterday, our church had a table set up with pro-life materials AND two sets of baby models.  The first set showed babies at the gestational stages of 7 weeks through 12 weeks.  The second set showed babies at gestational stages of 12 weeks through 30 weeks.

The babies were received well!   Children and adults alike were fascinated by them.  There were a lot of good questions and discussion points.  The babies also went on a "field trip" to Sunday school classes for the older youths.  The subject of personhood was presented as there are now Personhood groups working  in all 50 states now.  I heard a lot of people share of their family members or friends who were preemies as babies.  They would point to one of the babies and say, "He (or she) was around this age and size when born".   Many wanted to hold the babies in their palms or arms.

Many know the Roe vs. Wade title of the court decision.  Many of us don't want to manuever through all the legalese to understand all of its impact.  All we know is that it's about abortion and sometimes the term "a woman's right to choose" is mentioned  (although I never heard anyone refer to it in support by that phrase yesterday).   The opponents want us to be ignorant because it's easier to strip the freedoms of an ignorant people.  Their strategy is to sell the rope to the people that will eventually hang them.

I think it's time we give equal weight to Doe vs. Bolton too.   Whenever Roe gets mentioned, we really need to mention with as much time and emphasis to Doe.   Doe vs. Bolton was decided on the same exact day as Roe (with as much legislation from the bench as Roe.  Maybe even moreso since "Doe"-Sandra Cano never was seeking an abortion in the first place).   It allowed for abortion in all 9 months for any reason.  It was said that emotional and mental health was added as a reason for a woman to obtain an abortion.  This was a major loophole for unlimited, abortion-on-demand.

That's why I love that "Choosing Life" video.  It shows a group of ardent lovers of life saying, "WE are NOT going to take this lying down!"   Over 39 years now, we have had so many people fight back and some of that has shown up as limits.  They have fought tooth and nail to this day to staunch the flow of evil.    There's a big debate on how different groups go about stopping or limiting abortion.  Here's the standard that we are reaching for....ZERO abortions.  NO children killed.  Are we going to reach that?   I would say yes, we will....when we have the New Jerusalem.  Can we obtain that before then?   We live in a fallen, dark world.  It's not defeatism to say that, it's just we know the evil that is out there.  Of course, nothing is impossible without God! :)

Here's the standard once again.   ZERO abortions is the goal.  We don't want to reduce or limit or make it rare.  We want it abolished.   All nine months of protection is what our babies deserve.  We can't pray, ask or fight for anything less.   Our judicial branch, our legislative branch or executive branch, our medical systems and our education system is majorly wracked by sinful influences.   Satan does not want the family to thrive.  He wants them as his own.  He uses people who choose to be used to implement his plans.

We see a president who glorifies the decision to abort babies.  We see a president who voted (when he was senator) four times against giving care to babies who survived abortion.  We see senators and congressmen who vote against measures to protect babies and women.  We see court judges and lawyers who ignore the existence of babies and the plight of women (as in judges and lawyers who are partial to Planned Parenthood).  We see doctors and nurses either in the abortion mills.  We see doctors who are fearful of litigation so they suggest aborting babies with correctable maladies.  Over 90% of babies with  Down syndrome are aborted.   We see schools encouraging sexual promiscuity.  We hear about nurses driving girls to abortion clinics during school hours unbeknownst to their parents.

In many states, the limit is 24 weeks.  In other states, it may be less but abortionists are treated pretty much above the law.  I am glad to see Gosnell, Brigham and Riley facing murder charges but that is a rarity.  Time will tell to see whether they will be permanently put out of business thanks to a lengthy prison sentence.  We will all be watching these cases closely (of course, not on NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC or PBS...maybe not even Fox News).  We DO know that babies are killed everyday that are past the 24 week limit.  Again, though our standard is protection for all 9 months.

It's a touchy subject to say we aren't thankful for limits.  I want all children saved.  A baby that is spared abortion because a law was enforced is a good thing.  Let me add that many pro-life laws in this land protect some but not the babies conceived of rape or incest.  You'll hear the "exception law" and many legislators will vote for a pro-life law that has the phrase, "except for rape, incest or life of the mother (or even "health" of the mother).   So while I am thankful for the well-meaning pro-life legislator who votes for the well-meaning pro-life legislation, I still cannot be content with law that says "except for rape, incest and life of the mother"  ( life of the mother is another subject for another day).   This is not the standard of equal protection for ALL in ALL 9 months.  There are NO exceptions.

I will say that many gains have been reached in the past year or two as far as opening the eyes of the public.  Defunding Planned Parenthood has been something that many pro-lifers thought they would never see.  It's great to see a Planned Parenthood close its doors for lack of money.  We are excited when we hear former Planned Parenthood abortionists or employees have a change of heart and leave the abortion business.  It's good to see a wave of pro-life movies and documentaries.  I love it when youths come up to me and say, "How can I help? I want to get involved!"  Young people are way more pro-life than their parents and/or grandparents.   I really do have hope and am not a negative Nellie!  There's just no resting on our laurels.  As Dave Ramsay likes to say when he's bartering for a better deal, "That's just not good enough".

I may get comments about incrementalism.  It's sad that pro-lifers have to crawl painful millimeter-by-painful-millimeter what must feel like across broken glass to have any limits on abortion.  We could say, "it's not fair" but as my husband counters to that phrase "A fair is where you get your pies judged".
Yes, it's not fair that it seems the pro-aborts' side is winning, has more money, gets to write the history books, gets the royalty treatment from the press and Hollywood glorifies their gruesome practice.  In reality though, they have already lost and they are scared, they are desperate.  They know deep down they have lost and I am going to keep on going so I can say "neener, neener, neener!" (Okay, okay, I am really not going to do that).

Incrementalism or not, the war's already won.  Jesus conquered the grave.  We know that the Enemy is just doing everything he can to do as much damage before his gig is up.  We just need to keep sharing the Gospel, do good and flee from evil.  James 4:17  Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.

One final point to add also.  My husband taught the youth last night about God's heart on abortion.  He read many Scriptures to them (Jeremiah 1:5, Psalm 139:13-16 among many of them).

This is definitely worth noting:  Exodus 20:1-5

 1 Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, 2 “Again, you shall say to the children of Israel: ‘Whoever of the children of Israel, or of the strangers who dwell in Israel, who gives any of his descendants to Molech, he shall surely be put to death. The people of the land shall stone him with stones. 3 I will set My face against that man, and will cut him off from his people, because he has given some of his descendants to Molech, to defile My sanctuary and profane My holy name. 4 And if the people of the land should in any way hide their eyes from the man, when he gives some of his descendants to Molech, and they do not kill him, 5 then I will set My face against that man and against his family; and I will cut him off from his people, and all who prostitute themselves with him to commit harlotry with Molech.

We can't hide our eyes anymore!!!

Exodus 1:17
17 But the midwives feared God, and did not do as the king of Egypt commanded them,

So here are some marching orders:
Fear and please God, not men.
Keep your eyes on Jesus
